Salvation from Loss of Character

If a person does not question himself, is not in the struggle of improving one's self, it is normal for them to follow their desires and search for problems in others.
Those who constantly blame others are those that have distanced themselves from their own self, to an extent they suffer from a 'loss of personality and character' Sürekli başkalarını suçlayan ve kusuru başkalarında arayanlar, esasen kendilerinden uzak yaşayan, şahısları/şahsiyetleri açısından yetim kimselerdir; onlar "şahıs yetimliği" yaşamaktadırlar, "şahsiyet yetimliği" yaşamaktadırlar.
However if a person is busy dealing with their own flaws and personality, one's eyes are not adequate to analyse one's self.
The neurons in the brain are insufficient for this task. Beyindeki nöronlar yetmez insanın kendisine bakmasına.
The mind is inadequate for someone to judge themselves. İdrak yetmez insanın kendisini tartmasına.
But if a person cannot see themselves, does not account for themselves, then this leads to a serious disorganisation and imbalance.
They will always look for faults in others, and when they can't find anything substantial they only up sinning.
'Does it fit a person to rule, based on oppression whilst the truth is apparent' (Ziya Pasha, with a small adaptation). "Lâyık mıdır insan olana vakt-i kazada, Hak zâhir iken, zulm ile hükm-i kaza." (Ziya Paşa'dan, az değiştirerek.)
This is what happens, even though the truth is clear people are always being accused. İşte öyle bir şey olur; hak zâhir iken, başkaları suçlanır hep.
They appear to be purifying themselves when they accuse other people. Böyle suçlamalarda insanlar kendilerini arındırıyor gibi görünürler.
They set artificial agendas. Sun'î -bağışlayın- yalandan gündemler oluştururlar.
They work hard to find fault in others and to free themselves from accountability Oturur-kalkar, başkalarına bir şeyler söylemek, nefislerini tezkiye etmek adına değişik kurgular peşine düşerler.
However whatever crime they intend on accusing others with, they commit themselves. Fakat başkalarını düşürmek istedikleri her hususta, kendileri düşerler.
To not commit these crimes one must hold on to the 'strong rope', which is the Qur'an and face oneself. Düşmemek için, "el-Hablü'l-Metîn" olan Kur'an'a sarılıp kendine bakmak lazım, kendi ile yüzleşmek lazım.
As a generation we grew as orphans, missing both a mother and a father.
I'm not saying this based on your efforts and attitude in terms of opening up to the world. However as a nation and as the Islamic world we grew up as orphans due to our lack of understanding of Islam.
We have not comprehended Islam in itself and we have not lived a life according to it.
At a certain point, the people who systemised the lifestyle of the Companions with all of its essence and spiritual dimension, those in Sufi dervish lodges disappeared.
And because of this, in a way, we were left as orphans, we became fatherless. O noktada biz -bir yönüyle- bir öksüzlüğe düştük, baba yetimi kaldık.
On the other hand, the madrasas shut their doors towards learning the creative commands. Diğer taraftan medrese, tekvinî emirlere karşı kapandı.
The subsequent schools that opened their doors to the creative commands and interpreted analysed it according to ; Positivism, Naturalism, Materialism and presented us with dark pictures and ideas on the path of rejecting the truth. Mektep, aldı onları ele ama Pozitivizm, Natüralizm, Materyalizm disiplinlerine göre yorumladı, analize tâbi tuttu; kapkaranlık tablolar, inkâr çizgisinde şeyler önümüze serdi.
And we suffered another form of orphanhood. Bu defa da farklı bir yetimlik yaşadık.
You and your elders have shown effort in order to save us from that orphanhood.
You were working towards finding that mother and father, but you came face to face with the attacks from Satan and his human minions.
This is because numerous harmful obstacles appear before works of great good. Çünkü umur-i hayriyenin muzır mânileri olur.
Satan is the enemy of those on this true path. Şeytanlar, bu doğru yolun, düşmanı kesilirler.
'Numerous harmful obstacles appear in front works of great good. "Mühim ve büyük bir umûr-u hayriyenin çok muzır manileri olur.
Satan will be at war with the servants of this service!', says the Honourable Sage Bediüzzaman, the 'Spokesman of Our Age', the 'interpreter of our feelings' or 'the spokesman of the age of the Prophet in our time'.
Therefore all of the armies of Satan attacked you at a slight signal of your genuine resurrection. Dolasıyla az bir diriliş emaresi, ba's-ü ba'de'l-mevt emaresi gösterince, şeytanlar, bütün ordularıyla üzerinize hücum ettiler.
But they used humans. Ama onlar, insanları kullandılar.
In different places, the Qur'an draws attention to, 'Whispering and suggesting to one another specious words, by way of delusion' (Al-An'am, 6:112). Kur'an-ı Kerim'de değişik yerlerde, "Onlardan kimi kimine, aldatmak için birtakım yaldızlı sözler fısıldayıp telkin ederler" (En'âm, 6:112) hakikatine dikkat çekilir.
Satan and his minions whisper such rhetoric and convincing language, as if from a politician's mouth, such attractive and lustrous words that it is not possible for humans to not be hypnotised.
Therefore societies experience such illusions.
Some will dominate societies with their distorted minds and ideas; others will applaud and be dragged along. Birileri, kendi çarpık akılları ile topluma hükmederler; birileri de alkışlar, onların arkasından sürüklenir giderler.
And just like this, Satan will use the masses. Ve böylece şeytan, kitleleri kullanır.
They will do everything in their hands to guide people to impure thoughts such as; cutting the path of those walking toward the truth, burning bridges on that path, bring forth harmful seas of darkness and contaminating minds. Doğruya giden insanların önünü kesmek, o istikametteki köprüleri yıkmak, olmayacak yerlerde zararlı, ziftten çağlayanlar meydana getirmek, zararlı, ziftten çağlayanlar meydana getirmek, zihinleri kirletmek, insanları kirli düşüncelere sevk etmek adına ellerinden gelen her şeyi yaparlar.
Therefore, despite everything, you must walk on this path while also considering the realities. Dolayısıyla size, realiteleri hesaba katarak her şeye rağmen bu yolda yürümek düşüyor.
It may be the elderly may not be able to witness the results of these efforts; many of them wouldn't want to see it anyway.
We are worn-out, average people, we are not in demand or desired; neither do we seek to be. Partaldan insanlarız, revaçta değiliz; zaten revaca da yok merakımız.
We are aware that we were not created for this world, and that we are here temporarily. Biz, burası için yaratılmadığımızın, burada muvakkaten kaldığımızın farkındayız.
As stated by the Pride of Humanity: Nasıl buyuruyor İnsanlığın İftihar Tablosu:
'What relationship do I have to this world? "Ne alakam var Benim dünya ile?
My relation with this world resembles that of a traveller who takes a rest underneath the shade of a tree.
He then gets up, mount his ride, and is back on the road.' Sonra kalkar, merkûbuna (bineceği şeye, binitine) biner, gideceği yere azm-ı râh eder, yürür."
This is our path. Yolumuz bu bizim.
Our flag must fly high; the proclamation of God must continue everywhere. In other words, the Majestic Name of God and the majestic name of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, must be heard and known everywhere. Ama mutlaka o bayrağın dalgalanması, o şehbalin her yerde diyeceği şeyi demesi, ifade edeceği şeyi ifade etmesi, tâbir-i diğerle nâm-ı celîl-i İlahînin ve nâm-ı celîl-i Muhammedî'nin (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem), yani "Lâ ilâhe illallah, Muhammedun Rasûlullah" hakikatinin her yerde duyulması ve tanınması.
'Acceptance' is a virtue; a virtue beyond all others. "Kabul", ayrı bir meziyettir; o, meziyetler üstü meziyettir.
In a way, being respectful to acceptance is a virtue. Bir yönüyle ona karşı saygılı olmak, ikinci derecede bir meziyettir.
Saying, 'That might be the right' is another virtue. "Yahu bu da olabilir" demek, üçüncü derecede bir meziyettir.
'Let it is be, we can work this person'; this is another virtue. "Varsın o da olsun, biz onunla da geçiniriz."; bu da dördüncü derecede bir meziyettir.
One of these virtues can be attained through this endeavour, this effort and this exertion.
By attaining any one of these virtues, God would be pleased; God's pleasure could be attained. Hangisine varılırsa varılsın, Cenâb-ı Hak, hoşnud edilmiş olur, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın rızasına mazhariyet kesbedilmiş olur.
That is why it is important to keep walking on this path, to overcome our orphan status.
The life of the heart, the spiritual life and the life of the faculty of the Secret, a reality without a name, in the age of the Prophet. O devr-i Risâletpenâhî'deki "isimsiz müsemmâ" diyebileceğimiz kalbî hayat, ruhî hayat, sırrî hayat.
Shaping one's physical life according to one's inner life and spiritual anatomy and living accordingly.
This was later defined and labelled in certain ways by those in Sufi lodges and spiritual retreat centres, they declared, 'We need to act as such to achieve this' according to the time and its conditions.
They said, 'It should be done like so.' Bunu böyle yapmak lazım" demişler.
Like Ibrahim Haqqi, some people said: Gün gelmiş, kimisi, Hazreti İbrahim Hakkı gibi,
'Eat little, sleep little, drink little. "Az ye, az uyu, az iç
Abandon the cesspool of the flesh. Ten mezbelesinden vazgeç
Come, migrate to the heart's garden Dil gülşenine göç
Let's see what The All-True Master and Protector does. Mevlâ görelim neyler
Splendid is whatever He does!' Neylerse güzel eyler" demiş.
Some like Amir Bukhari said: Kimisi -Emir Buhârî gibi-
'On the Naqshbandi way, one must abandon four things: Der tarîk-i Nakşibendî lâzım âmed çâr terk
Renouncing the world, the Hereafter, your existence, and the idea of renunciation.' Terk-i dünya, terk-i ukbâ, terk-i hestî, terk-i terk" demiş.
Some followed the Spokesman of Our Age: Kimisi de -Çağın Sözcüsü gibi-
'In the way of depending on awareness of one's impotence before God, four things are essential; "Der tarîk-ı acz-mendî lâzım âmed çâr çiz
They are, acknowledgement of one's absolute impotence and poverty (before God), and absolute thanksgiving and zeal (in God's cause), O beloved!' Acz-i mutlak, fakr-ı mutlak, şükr-ü mutlak, şevk-i mutlak ey aziz" demiş.
You can find numerous similar proclamations. Ve bunları beşlere, onlara, yirmilere çıkarabilirsiniz.
For every era has its own set of rules; every period needs to learn lessons from the accumulated knowledge, in a way.
At some time, perhaps the little things were sufficient for the people.
But since the carnal soul peaks in certain periods, the Honourable Bahauddin Naqshband says to renounce those four desires. Fakat belli bir dönemde nefisler kabardığından dolayı, Muhammed Bahâuddin Nakşibendi hazretleri, dört şeyi terk etmek gerektiğini söylemiş.
I have reminded you of what he said in Persian; that is fundamental for the spiritual path; it is recommended to erase the world, the Hereafter, your existence, and the idea of renunciation from the carnal soul.
It is necessary to renounce these four things; Dört şeyi terk etmek lazımdır:
Renouncing the world and the Hereafter. Dünyayı terk etmek; ahireti de terk etmek lazım.
Those who only give the highest priority to the countenance of Almighty God do not see Paradise. Sadece Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın cemâline hasr-ı himmet edenler, esasen, Cennet'i de görmezler.
It seems to me, if they were in Paradise, and if they had witnessed Him, they would not be aware of the gurgling rivers, the Heavenly ones who call out to them or the fascinating palaces. Zannediyorum Cennet'e koysanız, O'nu görmüş iseler şayet, ne çağlayan ırmaklardan haberleri olur; ne onlara el işareti, ayak işareti, göz işareti yapan Hurîlerden haberdar olurlar; ne cilası, boyası bambaşka, baş döndürücü olan saraylardan, villalardan haberleri olur.
They will be enamoured by such beauty that, they will lose consciousness and be intoxicated. Whatever is said to them, they will constantly say, 'God, for God, towards God, live by God with God'.
On the path to God, the 'journey and initiation', these are the various stages and stops on the path. Seyr u sülûkta değişik merâtibi ifade etme adına, bunlar, farklı karakollar veya benzin istasyonları.
With every stop, the person will continue on with a different capacity. Her birisinde insan, değişik bir donanımla bir ilerisine gider.
They will take whatever kind of fuel is necessary to get to the next stop.
However, such a time and era appears where people go to extremes in the name of egotism.
As the Spokesman of Our Age said, this is the age of egotism, the age of preferring the worldly life over the eternal one.
Indeed the afterlife cannot be seen; the world, with its many veils grants the afterlife as invisible; in casting curtain over curtain, veil over veil before the eyes of people, it stops them from seeing that side. Âdetâ ahiret görülmüyor; dünya, değişik sütreleriyle, seralarıyla öte tarafı görünmez kılıyor; insanların gözlerinin önünde sütre sütre üstüne, sera sera üstüne oluşturmak suretiyle, o tarafı görmeye mâni oluyor.
That is why he says: Onun için diyor:
This age, in a way, is an age where the worldly life is preferred to the afterlife. Çağ -bir yönüyle- bilerek dünya hayatını, âhiret hayatına tercih edenlerin asrı.
If that is so, this age requires absolute helplessness, absolute poverty (before God), absolute zeal and absolute thanksgiving. Öyle ise, acz-i mutlak, fakr-ı mutlak, şevk-i mutlak, şükr-ü mutlak istiyor bu çağ.
One should see themselves as helpless, for it is the age of egotism. İnsan, kendini âciz görecek; çünkü çağ, enâniyet asrı.
Indeed in practical life also, when we look at the efforts we exert and then at the arrangement of these efforts through the matter of causality, there is no real cause and effect relationship present.
Your friends were young new university graduates when they scattered to the four corners of the world.
They went with a single bag in their hands. Ellerine birer çanta alıp gittiler.
They did not even have the means to pay rent in the countries they went to. Gittikleri yerlerde ev kirası verecek imkânları bile yoktu.
They did not know the geography of the places they went to. Gidecekleri yerin coğrafyasını bilmiyorlardı:
'Where? Where is this place?' "Nerede, falan yer nerede?
Where is Taiwan? Where is Thailand? Where is China? Tayvan nerede, Tayland nerede, Çin nerede?
In Central Asia; Where is this country? Where is that country? Orta Asya'da, falan memleket nerede, filan memleket nerede?"
They went without knowing; They asked at the airport, 'Where does this plane take off to?' Bilmeden gittiler; hava meydanında sordular, "Bu uçak, nereye kalkıyor?"
They boarded that plane, they went. Eğer kendi gidecekleri yer ise, bindiler uçağa, gittiler oraya.
The Lord Almighty nestled love and a beautiful acceptance into their hearts; They were not turned away, wherever they went. Cenâb-ı Hak, gönüllere "vüdd" sevgi, hüsn-i kabul vaz' etmişti; gittikleri hiçbir yerde tersyüz edilmediler.
Everyone opened the doors of their hearts to them. Herkes gönül kapılarını onlara açtı.
In about 170 countries in the world, everyone opened their arms and said, 'Welcome! You have brought us joy, however we have a complaint. You are a little late. Dünyada yüz yetmiş küsur ülkede herkes sinesini, bağrını açtı; "Hoş geldiniz, safâ geldiniz ama -bir yönüyle- sizden şikâyetçiyiz, biraz geç kaldınız.
Why did you not come earlier?' Daha evvel niye gelmediniz?" dedi.
We could not have come. Ee gelemezdik ki.
There is a dictator there; who was saying, 'It will be my way', 'I will be your master', like the one of our time, 'otherwise i will banish you'. Zira orada bir diktatörlük vardı; "İlle dediğim dedik" diyordu, "Bana bey'at edeceksin" diyordu, günümüzde olduğu gibi, "Yoksa sizi sürgün yaparız.
Saying, either i will banish you or put you in jail' Ya sürgün ederiz, ya hapse atarız" diyordu.
How similar are the two. Ne kadar benziyor değil mi?
Consequently when this evil system and curtain collapsed, in a way, little 'peace islands' emerged from where you could begin your service, little utopias were being built.
Others who witnessed this asked 'Why don't you visit us?' Çevreden bakıp görünce, "Yahu bize niye gelmiyorsunuz; bize niye gelmiyorsunuz?" dediler.
Whet ever their religion; or sect, whether Christian or Buddhist, Brahman or Shintoist.
They all opened their doors wide open like the doors in castles, and welcomed people, and gave the keys to their homes.
An opportunity emerged for you to be of service in those places; you displayed certain activities, and shared your thoughts. Size oralarda hizmet etme imkânı doğdu; kendi enginliklerinizi sergilediniz; Kitap Fuarı yapıyor gibi, "Düşünce Fuarı" yaptınız, düşüncelerinizi sergilediniz.
In the name of Islam, you opened your own stalls and places as a reaction to the things that ruin the bright face of it. Bir yerde Müslümanlık adına onun dırahşan çehresini karartan insanlara karşılık siz de stantlar açtınız.
In response to those that take execute people in the supposed name of Islam, and tarnish the purity of our faith, your portrayal of your values and spiritual world, witness it with awe and amazement; 'If these people are like this, then those others aren't real representatives'. Meydanlarda açıktan açığa insanların kellelerini alan ve ona da "Müslümanlık" diyen insanların İslam'ın dırahşan çehresini karartmasına mukabil, sergilediğiniz düşünce dünyanızın sergileri, kendi gönül dünyanızın sergileri, o fuarlara giren insanları hayran bıraktı; "Yahu bunlar böyle ise, o iş bizim bildiğimiz gibi değilmiş.
The truth is not Isis, or Murabit or Boko Haram. IŞİD değilmiş, çaşıt değilmiş, casus değilmiş, bilmem ne Haram değilmiş, ne Murabıt değilmiş.
'This is different, very different' they said and at least they started to think differently.
Over time they checked your pulse, listened to your heart, and analysed your heart and mind. Zamanla sizin nabzını tuttular, kalbinizi dinlediler; âletler koydular, dimağ âletini koydular, fikir âletini koydular, dinlediler.
There was no change to the rhythm, it would always beat steadily. Ritimde değişiklik yok, hep "di-di-da-dıt, da-da-dıt; di-di-da-dıt, da-da-dıt" atıyor.
'By God, they are saying the truth' they said and thus in an instant, by God's will one thing became a hundred fold more. "Vallahi bunlar doğru söylüyorlar" dediler ve dolayısıyla da birden bire "bir"ler, "yüz"lere ulaştı Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
Do you think Satan will stand idly by in response to this? Ee şeytan boş durur mu?
Those who were in service to Satan immediately began to act: Kendisinin emrine âmâde/teşne, onun tasmalı kulları, halâyıkı -değişik yerlerde, bazen serkârlar da dâhil- şeytanın dediğinin arkasından sürüklendiler:
'It is necessary that we destroy this. "Bunu bizim yıkmamız lazım.
Or else the entire world will wake up to this truth. Yoksa bütün dünya bu doğruluğa uyanacak.
And then we will no longer have a reason for existence. O zaman bizim hikmet-i vücudumuz kalmayacak.
However, we have been doing this since for so long.
We started these works in the heavens, with the Pure One of God, Prophet Adam, peace be upon him.
We cannot abandon the world to them. Bunlara dünyayı bırakmamamız lazım.
The world isn't a worthless place that we should leave to believers.
'This needs to embellished with satanic glitter, and imbued with the colours of Satan. Şeytanî yaldızlar ile yaldızlanması lazım bunun; şeytanî insibağ ile münsebiğ olması lazım."
They have given a brush to each of his accomplices' and said 'Paint everywhere with the colour of demolition'. Kendi avenelerine, hempalarına, boynu tasmalı halayıklarına birer fırça verdiler, "Bu (tahripkâr) düşünce boyalarını çalın her yere" dediler, verdiler ve dediler, verdiler ve dediler.
Consequently, some trailed behind you on this path, intending to disrupt your works, with disorder and corruption. Dolayısıyla birileri takıldı sizin arkanıza; yaptığınız şeyleri yıkmaya durdu, fitne ve fesat uyardılar.
'This is not right. "Olmuyor.
Let us taint their reputation and make them seem evil.
Let me assault their collective conscience, and shake their trust foundations, let me declare, "They are the enemies of society"'. Maşerî vicdanda onlara karşı (mevcut) güveni sarsayım ben; ayrıştırayım, 'Onlar, bu toplumun düşmanıdır' diyeyim" dediler avenelerine, hempalarına.
A different strategy and plan yesterday, a new one for today. Dün ayrı bir strateji, ayrı bir plan; bugün ayrı bir strateji, ayrı bir plan.
This shows that they will use a different plan and strategy tomorrow.
What they have done yesterday is the biggest reference to what they will do in the future.
Without haste, they will cut paths with new forms of projects and plans Değişmeden, hep şeytanî plan ve projeler ile ön kesmeye çalışacaklar.
Forgive me, that awful creature, Satan, is a professional.
Even in the skies, even amongst the circle of angels, he played his games. How long can we expect humans to withstand this? Tâ gökte bile oyununu oynamış; melekler içinde oyununu oynamış, insan ne olacak buna karşı?
Indeed, the Owner of Time, the honourable one who is always victorious says, 'Satan will always try to corrupt the servants of this path'. Evet, "umûr-i hayriyenin muzır mânileri olur; şeytan, bu hizmetin hâdimleri ile çok uğraşır" diyor Sâhib-i zaman, Hazreti Sâhib-kıran.
If so, we must then see this as a reality.
I would like to elaborate further; you may also consider this as besides the topic.
We must take care to depict these matters in a way that will not infiltrate those with pure thought. Bu türlü şeyleri alabildiğine tasvir ederek sâfî düşünceleri, sâfî zihinleri kirletmemek lazım.
Let's investigate this briefly. İcmâlen meseleyi bilmeli.
Satan is playing a game here. Şeytan bir oyun oynuyor burada.
In a game of wrestling, one prepares for the assaults of your opponent. You will prepare yourself accordingly and try to escape from the assault and its negativities.
You have performed this from the past to present and it lead to many good and new and very important opportunities.
In order to further improve this, with God's permission, please only be occupied with your issues.
Consult 'collective reasoning'. Oturur-kalkar "ortak akıl"a müracaat edersiniz.
I am referring to the Most Noble Prophet who says, 'Those who engage in consultation will never face disappointment'. Hazreti Sahib-i Zîşân'ın -Rasûl-i Ekrem'i kastediyorum, sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem- buyurduğu gibi, "İktisat yapan, fakr u zarurete düşmez.
One who engages in consultation will not incur loss and disappointment. İstişare eden de haybet ve zarar yaşamaz."
Yes, whoever engages in consultation will never face the dark face of utter poverty and loneliness. Evet, iktisat yapan, fakr u zaruretin kirli yüzünü görmez.
Whoever engages in consultation will never face slipping, stammering, and collapsing. İstişare eden de hiçbir zaman sürçmeye, teklemeye, yığılıp yerde kalmaya maruz kalmaz, haybet yaşamaz.
Consultation, consultation, consultation. Meşveret, meşveret, meşveret.
The Companions of the Prophet were appreciated in the Chapter Ash-Shura: Sahabe-i kiramı takdir sadedinde, Şûrâ Sûresi'nde, ".
'For all acts they do is by consultation among themselves' (Ash-Shura, 42:38). Onların işleri kendi aralarında şûrâ iledir" (Şûrâ, 42:38) deniyor.
Different virtues are listed and at the end it was said that, 'They solve all affairs in consultation with each other'. Değişik faziletler sıralanıyor ve sonunda da "Onlar, kendi aralarında her şeylerini meşverete bağlı, meşveret yörüngeli götürüyorlar" deniyor; "Onlar öyle babayiğit, öyle kâmet-i bâlâ insanlar" deniyor.
For this reason we should think and deliberate on how we can realise our plans and projects under these conditions.
I believe we should look at that. Zannediyorum ona bakmamız lazım.
Once again with the words of the Honourable Sage Bediüzzaman: Çünkü yine Hazreti Pîr'e ait bir sözdür:
'Every age has a character peculiar to itself.' With the exception of not opposing the basic principles of Qur'an, the actions of God's Messenger and the judgments of the great expounders of Islamic law. "Her zamanın ayrı bir hükmü vardır" değişmeye müsait meselelerde, Kur'an'ın temel disiplinlerine aykırı olmamak, Sünnet-i Sahîha'ya aykırı olmamak, Müçtehidîn-i ızâm hazerâtının o mevzuda selametli içtihatlarına aykırı olmamak kaydıyla, her zamanın ayrı bir hükmü vardır.
'Now, what movement or thoughts does this level require? "Şimdi konum, nasıl hareket etmeyi, neler düşünmeyi gerektiriyor?
How can we escape from this jumble of problems that we face? Bu problemler sarmalından nasıl sıyrılırız, nasıl çıkarız?
This mission that has been brought to this point with the will of God, how can we take it further?
We should constantly contemplate these issues. Hep bu meseleleri mülahaza ve mütalaaya almalıyız.
If we take an effective step in the right direction, only then can we expect God's support.
As I mentioned previously, in respect of the things that have been accomplished to date, there is no causal relationship between our actions and the results.
With what God allowed you to achieve, you cannot deduce a relationship of causality with what you did to get there. Allah'ın size yaptırdığı şeyde, tenâsüb-i illiyet -Frenkçe ifadesi, "Kozalite" prensibine göre, sebep-sonuç arasında hiç münasebet yok.
Young souls. Çiçeği burnunda delikanlılar.
No experience. Tecrübeleri yok.
The first few, twenty or thirty of them, migrated to the destinations that they picked out of a hat. İlk gidenler kuralarını çekti gittiler, yirmi tane mi, otuz tane mi?
The next round, because there were more names than would fit in a cap, some suggested we use a machine to conduct the draw.
And in subsequent rounds, alternative means of drawing destinations. Daha sonra, daha başka şeyler ile.
And over time, it became a collective trend, a busy trail that our own individual participation no longer mattered.
As Muhasibi describes it, people came together in 'Qur'anic reasonableness'.
They thought: 'This is such a beautiful thing. "Yahu bu güzel bir şey imiş.
The Qur'an's reasoning also requires it to be like this.' Kur'an mantığı da bunun, bu meselenin böyle olmasını iktiza ediyor" dediler.
The sage says: 'Qur'anic logic'. 'Qur'anic reasonableness'. -Hazret, "Kur'an Mantığı" diyor, "Kur'anî makuliyet".-
They established systems in accordance with the Qur'anic logic. Kur'an mantığı çerçevesinde sistemler kurdular;
They set out for all corners of the world. Dünyanın dört bir yanına açıldılar.
It is astounding. Şaşılacak bir şey.
But without realising, we thought, 'It is us behind all of this'.
God willing, I hope you have not thought so. And your superiors have not thought so. İnşaallah siz öyle dememişsinizdir, ağabeyleriniz de öyle dememişlerdir.
It is clear; there is no causality between our efforts and actions, and the scale of the results before us.
For example, if I was to say: Mesela, Kıtmîr kendi açısından dese:
'The results are not because of me, it is impossible to think the reason behind this is so and so'. "Benim ayak bağı olmam, filan ile bu meselenin telif edilmesi mümkün değil."
It is impossible. Mümkün değil bu.
Now, if at one stage, God Almighty blessed you with blessings and outcomes much above and completely beyond the principle of causality, if to date He showered you with achievements and victories, He will not, after this point, abandon you, nor leave these works and this mission incomplete and unfulfilled.
But the will of God Almighty, allowed you to blossom all across the globe with the compulsory migration in different colours and designs to manifest yourself in the world again.
He said: Dedi ki:
You were each a seed in each country you were in. Bulunduğunuz ülkede birer tohumdunuz siz, bir tane.
But in the places you went to, according to the power of growth, that is according to the opening of hearts to you, you will throw yourselves in the soil; in that place you will decay in the path of God. Ama gittiğiniz yerde toprağın kuvve-i inbâtiyesine göre, yani gönüllerin size açılmasına göre, toprağa kendinizi atacaksınız; orada -fenâ-fillah, bekâ billah, maallah- çürüyeceksiniz Allah yolunda.
You will decay but there will be grains that manifest. Siz çürüyeceksiniz ama bir başak meydana gelecek.
This time there will be ten of you. Bu defa lâakall on tane olacaksınız.
One will leave but ten will take its place. Bir gidecek, yerinizi on tane alacak.
Sometimes, in the description of the Qur'an, there will be ten grains, in each grain there will be ten seeds, this time, that 'one' will rise to 'one hundred'. Bazen de Kur'an-ı Kerim'in ifadesiyle, on tane başak olacak, her başakta on dane olunca, bu defa "bir", "yüz"e yükselecek.
The bounties of God are so great; His Mercy envelopes his wrath and is so great that if He wants he could make it one thousand. Allah'ın lütfu çok engin; rahmeti, gazabına sebkat etmiş ve her şeyden vâsi'; isterse bin tane yapar.
From this perspective, He has continued this way with his Will, Might, Power and Compliance; at the same time with His protection, in the form of aiding you against your enemies, He allowed you to reach such a point.
The things which He has allowed you to reach until today, are the biggest reference for the even bigger successes that he will allow you to reach in future.
You never stumbled, never lapsed and never fell face first in your endeavours. Hiç sekmediniz, hiç sürçmediniz, hiç yüzüstü düşmediniz.
You were kicked, you were shocked; you were hit with sledgehammers, you experienced its shock. Tekme yediniz, sarsıldınız; balyoz yediniz, onun şokunu yaşadınız.
There is no period in which these things didn't occur. Fakat bunların olmadığı hiçbir dönem yoktur ki.
Even the Pride of Humanity had received blows like that of a sledgehammer several times but he was not shook, with God's leave, he did not complain. İnsanlığın İftihar Tablosu bile çend defa başından balyoz yemiş ama sarsılmamış Allah'ın izni-inâyetiyle, şikâyet etmemiş.
Even in temporary circumstances where he may have complained, he said 'All praise be to God'. Şikâyet etmeye bâdi olan faktörler karşısında bile "Elhamdülillah" demiş.
The Spokesman of Our Age would say; 'Outside of unbelief and deviation, thanks be to everything that comes from Him.' Çağın Sözcüsü de "Küfür ve dalalet müstesna, O'ndan gelen her şeye hamd ü senâ olsun" diyerek nefes alıp vermiş:
'Things coming from You are pleasing "Hoştur bana Senden gelen
Either a robe of honour or a shroud Yâ hil'at u yahut kefen
Either a fresh rose or thorn Yâ taze gül yahut diken
Pleasant are both Your blessings and wrath.' Lütfun da hoş, kahrın da hoş."
With this consideration in mind, the pain you suffered from the sledgehammers - I believe - will be forgotten and will be explained in the future as stories.
So far those who have witnessed the incidents of May 27, March 12 and June 18.
What else was there? Bir de ne vardı?
Was there a December? Aralık filan mı vardı?
I believe there was a December as well. Aralık da vardı galiba.
There was July too. Bir de Temmuz vardı.
Those who have witnessed July. Temmuz görmüş olanlar olarak.
Most of the months have been tainted; God has left it to us to purify them. Ayların çoğu kirlenmiş; onların arındırılmasını Allah (celle celâluhu) size bırakmış.
Imam Shafi has a quote which I greatly appreciate and will always wear as a crest on my prayer cap: İmam Şâfiî hazretlerinin, takdir edip sürekli bu kirli takkeme sorguç yapacağım bir sözü var:
'May God be eternally pleased with the early Muslim scholars and predecessors; they have left behind much to do for the successors.' "Seleften Allah ebediyen razı olsun; halefe ne kadar çok yapacak iş bırakmışlar."
If the Almighty God did not leave you so many things to accomplish, how do you expect to join those greatly figures in Paradise?
How could you otherwise be with the honourable Abu Bakr in Paradise?
Now if I were to ask any of you, I believe you would say, 'Me too, me too, me too'. Şimdi hanginize sorsam, zannediyorum, "Ben de varım, ben de varım, ben de varım" dersiniz.
Which one of you wouldn't want to sit down and dine with Abu Bakr? Hanginiz Hazreti Ebu Bekir ile beraber aynı sofraya oturmayı istemezsiniz?
Which one of you wouldn't want to sit with the Honourable Umar, Uthman, Ali, Khadija, Aisha and Hafsa? Hanginiz Hazreti Ömer ile, Hazreti Osman ile, Hazreti Ali ile, tâife-i nisadan Hazreti Hadîce-i Kübrâ ile, Âişe-i Sıddîkâ ile, Hazreti Hafsa ile aynı sofraya oturmayı istemezsiniz?
If I had a thousand lives may they all be sacrificed for them, we are thirsty for that time. Bin canımız olsa fedâ olsun, teşneyiz o işe.
As long as you are desiring those purposes and readily available at command, believe me, God will make it available for all hearts to desire what you explain; ears will be opened to hear your words, listening as though what you speak are heavenly sounds and at the same time God will heighten your spiritual eye; just how He commanded the Righteous Scholars of the early period of Islam, God willing you will say, 'This is what we've been searching for all this time'. Siz o işe teşne olduğunuz sürece, emre âmâde bulunduğunuz sürece, inanın, Allah bütün gönülleri sizin diyeceğiniz/edeceğiniz şeylere teşne haline getirecek, âmâde kılacak; kulaklar, sizin için açılacak, semâvî sesleri dinliyor gibi dinleyecek ve aynı zamanda Allah basiretinizi açacak; selef-i sâlihînin tekvinî emirleri okuduğu, eşya ve hadiseleri hallaç ettiği gibi size de ettirecek, Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle, "Yahu, aradığımız, meğerse bu imiş" diyeceksiniz.
Let us revisit the origin of the matter: İşin başlangıcına dönelim:
At the same time you and your nation, the Nation of your faith, will be freed from orphanhood. Aynı zamanda böylece yetimlikten, öksüzlükten siz ve milletiniz -Millet-i İslâmiye- kurtulmuş olacaksınız.
The defamation that you see today will be forgotten one day, with God's will and beneficence. Bugün sizin dünyanızda görülen o karalamalar hadisesi, Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle unutulacak.
Just as you speak of past troubles in laughter, you will also talk of these days like a joke.
Like, 'On the 12th of March we were speaking of such and such in prison with the friends.' "12 Mart'ta, hapishanede arkadaşlar ile şunları konuşuyorduk" diye.
At the end of the day prisons breed a unique kind of psychology, it demoralises you.
The guard comes in and shouts, 'Get up!' Gardiyan geliyor; bağışlayın, "Lan, kalkın ayağa" diyor.
Let me give an example: Mesela, bir tek örneğini söyleyeyim:
I had been poisoned by a poisonous egg. Zehirli yumurtadan zehirlenmişim.
They took me outside; no ambulance, no one to aid was called. Götürmüşler dışarıya; araba/cankurtaran gelmemiş.
They instead took me back inside and said, 'If he dies let him die in the barracks.'
My friend, the late teacher Osman helped me out. Sonra rahmetli Osman hoca yardım etmiş.
He was a friend I loved very dearly and his son was recently here.
He used to say to me: Bana diyordu ki:
'I made you vomit and saved your life.' "Ben istifrağ ettirdim de seni, sen kurtuldun."
In the morning the guard came to me and pushed me with his foot and said, Gardiyan geldi sabah; zannediyorum, o ayağı ile dürttü beni, "Lan hoca.
'Hey Imam, weren't you dying yesterday?' Dün, geberiyordun" dedi.
Yes, these words and actions are also disrespectful towards you, your role in society and can lead to very serious despondency.
But as you can see, when speaking of these things we find ourselves smiling, as though they are comedic stories.
One day will come when you will also speak of February, December, and the defamations of July just like this, with God's leave.
If this is our fate, let's focus on the future, let's work on reaching that point, and avoid getting stuck on other minor things on the way.
Let's not scatter, let's keep our head clear. Dağılmayalım, nöron kirliliğine girmeyelim, kirli şeyleri bahis-mevzuu yapmayalım.
I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to speak any clearer? Bilmiyorum daha açık konuşmam yakışıksız kalır mı?
Let's not follow newspapers that spread lies and defamation from side to side. Efendim, etrafa zift püskürten gazeteleri, elden geldiğince takip etmeyelim.
Sometimes there may be some things that threaten our service and action, in that case we may need to stand firm and do something about it.
One or two responsible people can follow up on such things. Onlarda bir-iki insanın o işe bakmasında mahzur olmayabilir.
However, if everyone focuses on that matter as if it is the primary issue, that will lead to nothing but mental pollution.
Applaud the good with goodness. İyileri, iyilikle alkışlayın.
Be kind to the believing hearts. İnanmış gönüllere karşı mürüvvetli olun.
Draw near to those of other faiths so softly that their hatred and anger melts. İnançsızlara öyle yumuşak yanaşın ki, kinleri-nefretleri eriyip gitsin.
And always be Messiah with each breath you draw. Ve soluklarınızda daima Mesih olunuz.
The inferior can be preferred over the superior in a particular case. Mercûh, râcihe bir hususta tereccüh edebilir.
The spirit of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, at the End Times. Âhirzamanda Muhammedî ruh (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem).
In a way, if they slap you on your right cheek, turn; just so they get over their grudge, let them slap you on your left cheek, too.
If we are to express this as Yunus Emre did: Sizin Yunus'unuzun diliyle ifade edecek olursak:
'Without hands against those who strike you, "Dövene elsiz gerek,
Without speech against those who curse you, Sövene dilsiz gerek,
A dervish should take no offence, Derviş gönülsüz gerek,
You cannot be a dervish.' Sen, derviş olamazsın."
'Being a dervish as they say, "Dervişlik dedikleri,
Is not a cloak nor a crown, Hırka değil, taç değil,
Those with dervish hearts, Gönlün derviş eyleyen,
Do not need a cloak.' Hırkaya muhtaç değil."
You are such dervishes. Siz, öyle birer dervişsiniz.
You neither wish for a crown, nor a cloak. Ne taç istersiniz, ne de hırka istersiniz.
You do what you do and move on. Yaptığınız şeyi yapar, gidersiniz.
You plant a seed, it doesn't matter who harvests it. Siz, tohum atarsınız, kim hasat ederse etsin; önemli değil.
You accept it like you have done it yourself and greet it with respect.
You will not fall into a situation like accomplices of Satan turn green with envy, by God's grace and will.
'If there is service, it is worth living a little bit more "Hizmet varsa şayet, değer az daha yaşamaya
Nowadays my only pain is to make Him known.' Şimdilerde göz ağrım, sırf O'nun bilinmesi."
I said these words many years ago; now someone repeats them for you. Senelerce evvel Kıtmîr söylemiş bu sözü; birisi size tekrar ediyor.
This will suffice you. Vesselam.
